# ReloScout Privacy Policy

Adana Tech ("we," "our," or "us") operates the ReloScout mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the App.

 

## 1. Information We Collect

 

### Information You Provide

- **City search queries:** When you search for a U.S. city, we process the city name and state to retrieve relocation data.

- **Saved cities:** If you save cities to your favorites, this data is stored locally on your device.

 

### Information We Do Not Collect

We do **not** collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

- Your name, email address, or Apple ID

- Your physical location or location history

- Device identifiers or advertising IDs

- Contacts, photos, or other personal files

- Browsing history outside of the App

- Financial or payment information (subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple)

 

## 2. Third-Party Services

 

### OpenAI (AI-Powered City Insights)

 

The App uses OpenAI's API (api.openai.com) to provide AI-powered city data and insights. When you use AI-powered features, the following data is sent to OpenAI:

 

- **City and state names** you search for

- **Neighborhood names** within those cities

- **Publicly available city statistics** such as school ratings, crime rates, housing prices, and cost-of-living indices

 

**No personal data** (name, email, Apple ID, device information, or location history) is ever sent to OpenAI.

 

OpenAI processes this data under their [API Data Usage Policy](https://openai.com/policies/api-data-usage-policies), which states that data submitted via their API is not used to train their models. We do not store any data on OpenAI's servers beyond the duration of each request.

 

You are asked to review and accept this data sharing the first time you use any AI-powered feature in the App. If you decline, no data is sent to OpenAI, and AI-powered features will be unavailable.

 

### Apple WeatherKit

 

The App uses Apple's WeatherKit service to provide weather data for searched cities. Only the geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) of the searched city are sent to Apple's weather service. No personal data is transmitted. WeatherKit usage is governed by [Apple's Privacy Policy](https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).

 

### Apple MapKit

 

The App uses Apple's MapKit for city search, map display, and local amenity discovery. City search queries and geographic coordinates are processed by Apple's mapping services. ### Apple StoreKit (In-App Purchases)

 

Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information. All billing is managed by Apple under their [Terms and Conditions](https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/).

 

## 3. Data Storage

 

All user data (saved cities, search history, preferences, and consent choices) is stored **locally on your device** using SwiftData and UserDefaults. We do not operate any servers that store your personal data.

 

## 4. Data Sharing

 

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties. The only data transmitted to third-party services is described in Section 2 above, which consists exclusively of city names, geographic coordinates, and publicly available statistics — never personal data.

 

## 5. Children's Privacy

 

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect personal data from any users, no special provisions are required.

 

## 6. Your Choices

 

- **AI Data Consent:** You can choose to accept or decline AI data sharing when first prompted. If you decline, AI-powered features are disabled but the consent prompt can be revisited at any time.

- **Saved Data:** You can clear your search history and saved cities at any time from the Profile tab within the App.

- **Deleting the App:** Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data from your device.

 

## 7. Changes to This Policy

 

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date above.
